Who We Are
A movement of Californians pursuing self-government, lawfully and in the open.
Our mission
CalExitNow.com exists to advance California sovereignty by lawful and democratic means. We believe California’s future should be decided by Californians, and that the question deserves a serious, transparent public process.
How we work
Our path runs through California’s own institutions, in three steps:
- Resolution: a Joint Resolution in the State Legislature to formally study California’s sovereign future.
- Commission: a Blue Ribbon Commission to investigate every lawful, peaceful path forward.
- Report to Californians: findings delivered to the people, so the choice is informed and ours.
Leadership
Marcus Ruiz Evans, President and Spokesman, has led the public case for California sovereignty for more than a decade. He holds a degree in urban and regional planning from the University of Southern California and spent over ten years as a liaison between the government of California and the federal government, administering federal transportation grants against regional infrastructure needs.
J.J. Ames, Political Director, is responsible for the movement’s legislative strategy. He spent forty years in Washington politics across sixty-seven campaigns, with presidential campaign and cabinet-level experience. He is the author of the Joint Resolution.
Beyond its officers, the movement is organized by Californians across the state: citizens, organizers, advocates, and civic leaders united by one conviction, that California should decide its own future.
What this organization is
CalExitNow.com is an unincorporated association based in Fresno, California, directed by the two officers named above and organizing in communities statewide.
Contributions support lawful, peaceful advocacy and are not tax-deductible. Anyone asking for your name or your money should be willing to say what they are.
